Biography:
Prof. Dr. Akmal El-Mazny is a leading expert in Obstetrics and Gynecology and currently serves as a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. A graduate of Cairo University, he obtained both his Master’s and MD degrees in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with subspecialized training in assisted reproduction and gynecologic endoscopy.
Prof. El-Mazny has made significant contributions to the scientific community, authoring more than 65 peer-reviewed international publications in the fields of reproductive medicine, infertility, and minimally invasive gynecology.
He also serves as a peer reviewer and associate editor for several high-impact journals, including Fertility and Sterility (F&S), European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology (EJOGRB), Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (UOG), Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics (ARCH), Journal of Gynecologic Oncology (JGO), and the Middle East Fertility Society Journal (MEFS).
As a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (FICS), Prof. El-Mazny is actively involved in advancing global standards in gynecological care and education.

Prof. Dr. Akmal Nabil Ahmad El-Mazny, MD, FICS (USA), is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. He graduated from Cairo University, where he also obtained his Master’s and MD degrees in Obstetrics and Gynecology. His subspecialties include assisted reproduction and gynecologic endoscopy.
Prof. El-Mazny has contributed more than 65 peer-reviewed international publications to the scientific community. Heike Thiel de Bocanegra

Biography:
Heike Thiel de Bocanegra, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor at the Bixby Center for Global Health, University of California, San Francisco. She has served as the director of UCSF’s evaluation of California’s Family PACT (Planning, Access, Care, and Treatment) Program since 2005. Family PACT is administered by the California Department of Health Care Services, Office of Family Planning.
Dr. Thiel de Bocanegra is the principal investigator of a medical chart review assessing the quality of family planning services among primary care providers, as well as an evaluation of the Bedsider website, which supports women in remembering family planning appointments and contraceptive refills.
Prior to moving to California, she conducted applied health services research and program evaluations in New York, focusing on immigrants, refugees, and victims of crime, trauma, and violence.
Internationally, she has overseen program implementation, evaluation, and policy work in Peru (where she lived for seven years), Kosovo, Vietnam, South Africa, and Mexico.
She earned her MA in Psychology from the University of Bielefeld, Germany; her MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and her doctoral degree in Public Health from New York University. Her doctoral dissertation explored predictors of breastfeeding among immigrant women in New York City.
